opening sequence for the phantom of opera

from the beginning it starts off with a photo like scene, where we are immediately told the setting. the setting is from the past as there are old cars and the clothes the people are wearing are old fashioned. furthermore, we are then positive that this is from the past because they have used a sepia style where it isn't in full colour. the angle then changes to the part when we see a car.there is a close up of someones foot and we then follow it, like a tracking.
we then see the low angle of the car and someone getting off it. we only see the feet which. this person then gets on a wheel chair which may show that he could be ill or has injured himself from someone or something. the wind is blowing and we can see this because there are bit of pieces that are flying past his shoes.
the camera then follows the wheelchair until they arrive to a large bulding. we see this building when the camera begins to pan towards it. then, we are shown the big room and the interior they are in. we hear a person talking so we immediately realise that this place is an auction where they sell many expensive items.
after, we see a long shot, then a medium shot of a woman who is also participating in this auction. when the woman looks at the man who has entered on a wheel chair, the camera changes to her face and then his. also, there is a slow zooming in onto her face. this is because we are able to see her facial expression. we then notice that she knows him and he knows her by looking at their facial expression.
after, when the man holds the monkey, we see an extreme close up of his face when he is talking to it, this is to show that this monkey may be significant.
finally, when we are introduced to the object that is beneath the large curtain. as soon as it is revealed, the loud music begins to play which brings the audience attention because we are curious of what it is.
as the music plays, we begin to see the whole room and soon after, it changes from black and white to full colour. this is probably the best scene throughout this film because we see the beautiful stage and the seats for the audience. the whole empty, auction, unwanted place changes to something we did not expect which is very interesting and beautiful to see.
